Mobility and Transportation
Older adults are more active, healthier, and living longer than earlier generations. Affordable and accessible options for mobility and transportation will help older adults stay connected to communities and social networks and reduce social isolation. Transportation and mobility options will keep older adults independent and positively influence physical and mental health. They will also provide older adults the opportunity to work longer, to contribute to the community, and to strengthen their social and emotional needs.
UCOA Policy Position:
UCOA desires that all Utahns have access to affordable and flexible mobility and transportation options throughout the life spectrum. Enabling connectivity sustains the physical and emotional health of older adults. UCOA partners with community organizations and government agencies to establish and promote transportation and mobility resources and policies throughout Utah communities. UCOA encourages all communities to development and implement transportation and mobility plans to serve older adults.
