Technology Support

As the world’s population is becoming more interconnected through technology platforms such as the internet and mobile devices, there are many internet based services that can be accessed through them, including educational, financial, and health resources. Digital literacy has a direct impact on everyone’s quality of life, including older adults. In order for older adults to be able to access these resources, technology support and education is key.

UCOA Policy Position: 

UCOA supports coordinated efforts to connect older adults with resources that help them become more digitally literate and to increase the potential for technology support and education in the state of Utah. UCOA desires for all seniors to feel empowered by knowledge about technology so that they can take full advantage of the resources that technology can provide for them, and advocates for local governments to make technology support a priority as part of their inclusion efforts.
